Stuffed fig with mascarpone and honey 🍯
Fig is a luxury fruit here but I have spent my childhood hot summers picking them from trees and tasting the sweetness of this heavenly fruit while so many of them were so ripe and sweet that they would fall from the tree to be birds food.
Fig tree is so popular in east. You can smell them while walking on the streets where the fruit farms are close by.
My family used to make golden fig jam, fig vinegar and fig syrup in summer time so we could have this magical fruit all year round to make drinks or having at breakfast on buttered toast.
Last week I made this fantastic combination and it became the highlight of the table.
Ingredients:
6 figs cut the top and make a cross cut.
3 Tbsp mascarpone
2 Tbsp honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 Tbsp almond slices
1 Tbsp orange zest
Mint leaves to garnish
Instructions:
In a small bowl, mix mascarpone, honey and vanilla extract.
Spoon the mix in the figs.
Sprinkle with almond slices and top them with orange zest.
Garnish with mint leaves.
If you like drizzle with more honey.
